BUNKA CUP

BUNKA, japanese word for 'culture', perfectly describes this project, since the BUNKA CUP is a fusion of different cultures and their drinking habits. Respecting their traditional designs and values, BUNKA is combining them into a new common mug. Besides the functional aspects, theres also an aesthetic justification of the design: the idea of creating a cup, that can be stored outside of the cupboards without disturbing the overall picture of the kitchen. When the cups are stacked on top of each other, the tower resembles a bamboo shoot with a sculptural touch to it, encouraging the user not to shy away from a small bamboo forest on the kitchen counter.
