Philipp Steffens

Philipp Steffens was born in 1964 in Bochum. After graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as a piano maker in Berlin. Later he studied industrial design in Wuppertal and Saint Etienne (F). In addition to freelance projects and his independent work, he has headed the CAD pool in Industrial Design at the University of Essen since April 2000. From 2004 to 2007 he was honorary professor for CAD and digital modeling at the University of Bolzano (I). Since 2008, he has been head of the CAD lab at Folkwang University of the Arts. From 2014 to 2018 he is involved in the board of Kölndesign. In 2021 he supports selected residents in KreativCampusRuhr as a mentor.
